Mike Gamel

Mike Gamel is Chairman of Mexpress Transportation. Mike started in the trucking business as a teenager at Yellow Freight and has held numerous operational and senior management positions in the trucking industry, including Chief Executive Officer.

A true entrepreneur, Mike started and grew his own trucking company from ground zero to $60 million in annual revenues in the early 1980's. Known as one of the most energetic and innovative minds in trucking, Mike saw a tremendous opportunity emerging in the mid 1980's if one could just solve the myriad of headaches and bottlenecks of U.S./Mexico trucking. He started Mexpress to realize this vision.

One eloquent proof of his unique solution to these significant transportation problems is that Mexpress is able to equal or surpass airfreight into the interior of Mexico using trucks! Numbering among Mike's ownership interests is a Mexican custom brokerage firm, which is an integral part of the Mexpress concept of total control of a shipment, and a California intra-state trucking and warehousing company.

The Mexpress concept, virtually proprietary, allows a business to ship to Canada, United States and Mexico with no delays or paperwork hassles at the border. Utilizing his tremendous skill sets in innovation, technology development, and the ability to craft and cultivate international partnerships, Mike has eclipsed the goal of borderless LTL/TL deliveries in Mexico. Mike and his team help businesses get established and expand in Mexico without the pain points typically suffered by any organization doing business and transporting goods to and from Mexico.

Mike actively participates in numerous transportation and cross border related organizations.
